Walkin' Through The Days (so differently)

For two weeks the only shots I've taken were with my iPhone 3G.

Morning commute.

I've always wanted an Acura Vigor, produced only from '92-'93. Saw this in a parking lot during one of my regimented breaks. I guess my hand sweated up the lens.

This definitely was a bewildering two weeks. A wormhole of my life. Also missing are 13 shots from my Sony photos that would (barely) cover this time interval. They may exist on DVD backups of my memory sticks, but I don't know.

Pomegranate

There was a little tree that volunteered at my Dad's house. I surprised him with an identification 'pomegranate', at 7 years old. There was one on the 20th street side of Janelle and Renee's driveway.

That little tree still tries to make it in that gravelly, nearly clay-free soil. A nod to something that is probably blooming right now. There's a metaphor here somehow. From March 24, 2009.

The very next day I spotted another 'wild pomegranate' near the pedestrian bridge at the 5 Mile Recreation Area, 25 miles away. Serendipity.

Campbell California, 2009

I was in Campbell on 3/21/2009 and had exceptionally good day with flowers and colors and shit. I added them to the March 2009 album, though that is now getting to be big! This batch begins at image #52.

There are 18 images from this day in the full album.

Red Rock Canyon, 2009

In this continuing review of my cross-country adventure one year ago, here's some images from 3/15/09. Our seat-of-the pants sight-seeing had taken us many cool places. As the week wound down we weren't really ready to be 'home'. The Road is home to some. From Pisgah, we found Red Rock Canyon state park. It was a beautiful morning and we went for a hike.

     You belong among the wildflowers.
You belong in a boat out at sea.
You belong with your love on your arm.
You belong somewhere you feel free.

     (Tom Petty, Wildflowers, 1994)

Then we were back on the highway. It's a long drive from Nashville to Sacramento.
Aw bid the years good bye, you cannot still them.
Well ya cannot turn the circles of the sun.
Well ya cannot count the miles until you feel them.
And ya cannot hold a lover that is gone.

(Townes Van Zandt, Snowin' On Raton, 1987)

California is much more full of people, and once we descended into the valley, there was no turning back. We bought some whiskey and coke and stayed the night at a regional park on a reservoir, Lake Success.

There are now even more in the entire album, this day beginning at image #37.
