I have been taking more incidental photographs lately. The days pass.
After the very unusual cold storm passed , it has been very bright and hot. Lousy light for photos.
Stay away from the light!
Repeating myself a bit.
Shots after dark are pretty tough with the P6000. It was breezy. ISO800 is really too noisy.
For the holiday, I cooled off by going to Sand Harbor on the eastern shore and Nevada side of Lake Tahoe. I’m grateful for random emails from old friends! It had been a while since I was last there, maybe once in 2009. There is a venue where I saw the incredible Michael Hedges the year before he died.
No lifeguard on duty.
After sunset, but before the fireworks began, I tried a new idea: long exposure infrared. The moon was only a sliver.
I was too far away with the P6000 for respectable fireworks photographs. I have shot them before. 2010: Gold Beach, OR, and 2008: Owensboro/Henderson, KY. As everyone loads the boats up at the end of the day in Sand Harbor, it is hectic. These are lights from the police and boat trailers getting out of there.
