It is a long drive from Cincinnati to Reno. After the show Sunday night, we made it to Indianapolis. We got up Monday and made it all the way home (ended up being 36 more hours). This was sunset over Illinois:
The sun rose during my shift in Wyoming.
The trip was somewhere around 6,000 miles.
We had to cover a huge amount of miles for the shows after Iowa Falls. The folks at The 503 Bar were kind and generous. I guess we were the first to try out the 503 Flophouse; it was nice.
So we drove all the way across Iowa.
That meant we were driving all day and pulling into the gigs after dark. Plus, the weather turned lousy. So my photography took a substantial nosedive. We played a Halloween show in Wisconsin, right near Dubuque Iowa. I borrowed this photo from the club’s fb page.
The single 15 has been working for me since I started to pay attention to what Mike Therieau (now of Shurman in Austin) was up to back in 2006. Incidentally, Mike has some interesting things on YouTube:
The next day we had to drive all the way to Springfield Illinois. We dined at the Sunshine Diner, our last day with sunshine, in Dubuque.
So like a yo-yo with a 500 mile string, we went to Springfield, then Chicago, then Columbus Ohio. Back to the very long road along the I-80
