Lancaster PA

I searched for a laundromat near the venue and found a very highly rated one nearby called Charles’ Laundry. I was a nice day and I repacked and dealt with gear. Afterwards, Joe’s Shoe Repair fixed up my boots for $5. It was a good day with night light in a very cool historic town.

This guy looked great so I asked if I could photograph him. When I set up, he did this, asking, “You ain’t the FBI are you?”

Next door to the venue was an old school camera store. I had a nice conversation with the guy that worked there and a girl named Taylor who told me about some happening in Brooklyn. A bunch of photographers set up their pictures in storage trailers at the water front. It is called Photoville.

This little model was behind the counter, so I asked for a closer look.

Good Morning Lake Erie

I really love New York, and feel pretty lucky to have been able to see it. I am sitting on the shores of Lake Erie not too far from Erie, PA. The last two days have been staggeringly beautiful. Today I had a feeling much like the very first time I got to Gold Beach Oregon at 9 years old. It is fun to reconnect with that.

I haven’t been shooting much film at all. This leg of the tour has been a lot more driving than I first realized. Load-in times have been surprisingly early, making it a little tough to get there in time through 5 o’clock traffic.

I scoped out the map and saw that Shades Creek park would be my last chance to calmly enjoy Lake Erie for perhaps the only time.

We got to a super tore up street. The venue is great but deep in the ghetto. The door lady said that lake Erie was only 1/2 mile away, so I went out for a few shots near sunset. It was sweet!

It was a great venue for shooting bands, so I finally found some camera moo to photograph the Supersuckers. Felt really good to be wearing that hat some again.

Darrell Scott!

I just met Darrell Scott at the gas station in Arundel Mills outside of Baltimore. We exchanged CDs and they got going to the airport.

Unfuckingbelievable.

I knew the guitar case and his girl from talking with them at Wintergrass and Virginia city.

There is no way our paths crossing could ever really happen since we're on different tour circuits.

Last night I slept on the ground in the backyard. I took this as we were leaving the gig.

Baltimore really felt like a swamp in this hear wave. Check out this mega bumble bee:

Kuttawa

I was going to hang out in Henderson, but Mark and Monica had one last adventure for me and took me down to Kuttawa, Kentucky where their boat is. This little gem caught my eye as we walked down to the boats. What follows is a whole bunch of pictures from my first time around a bunch of boats like this. I was having a lot of thoughts about my time in the Nashville area in the fall of 2008, this one from 9/17/2008 comes to mind.

This boat was a work of art. It is for sale, and is called the Mallard, with Biloxi Mississippi painted on the stern. There was a book inside called Life on the Mississippi.
