Traveling mid-May to mid-June. There and Back Again.

5/16/08. River road, south of Baton Rouge, LA.

5/18/08. River front, Baton Rouge, LA.

5/20/08. Guadalupe river, Kerrville, TX.

5/29/08. Bird atop neighbor's tepee, Kerrville folk festival (KKF), TX.

5/29/08. Bird foreground, Quiet Valley to southeast, KKF, TX.

5/30/08. Scott Ainslie, KKF, TX. 1935 National Steel resonator.

5/30/08. Freebo's show. Great guitar player; back in the 80's he played with Bonnie Rait during Freebo's tenure on bass.

5/30/08. Slaid Cleaves. He never did play that harmonica.

6/1/08: Virginian New Folk winner Devon Sproule with Dalis (KKF manager/mc) in foreground.

Medina river crossing, about 15 miles south of KKF grounds, probably after 4:20pm.

It was way to hot to do much during the day except relax by the river.

6/1/08. Baby hummingbirds outside of cousin Skot's kitchen window, Ingram TX.

6/8/08. We made it back to Baton Rouge for more adventures.

6/9/08. Bayou Lafourche, Thibodaux, LA. There was a French-Cajun performance at the Jean Lafitte park.

6/9/08. East of Vacherie on LA18.

Veteran's Memorial bridge. This thing is 139 ft above the river.

My favorite shot is in the next batch.

Trip photos

Did I mention I am actually getting somewhere with the harmonica? I have a growing collection of harps, and truly appreciate the genius of Little Walter (Marion) Jacobs, Sonny Boy Williamson (Rice Miller), and Howlin' Wolf. I really dig the sound of the B flat harp and the low G. Man, if only I started with one of them instead of a C it may not have been 18 years since my last efforts.

Here are pictures. Enjoy, and send me a note if you dig 'em.
